Swakeleys started long before we had a name. George and Josh grew up together through Scouts and secondary school, and after stumbling across an old guitar one afternoon, a shared love of music quickly turned into an obsession.
What began as a few covers and school music room jams eventually became Unamed. We spent our time writing songs, playing wherever we could, and building a small following online. As our ambitions grew, so did the band. Lucas joined on drums, Kieran picked up the bass, and suddenly things started to feel real.
On 1 January 2026, we became Swakeleys.
The name felt closer to home and closer to the music we were making. Since then, we've been focused on writing original material, playing shows across West London, and finding our own sound somewhere between indie rock, guitar music, and whatever else inspires us.
Our debut single, Sulking, lands on all streaming platforms on 30 June. It's a song that's been kicking around since October, taking on different shapes before finally becoming what it is now.
It’s the first thing we’re putting out under the name Swakeleys, but it won’t be the last. There’s already more music on the way.
